My Approach

I am trained as an Integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. This means I can use approaches from different models of therapy and work in a flexible way to find the best fit for you and what suits your needs.

I see you as the expert in your own life and my aim is to facilitate and resource you to gain new perspectives and move forward from the difficulties you are experiencing.

Exploring and reflecting in our sessions together to gain understanding about what led to your presenting issues.  I believe ‘knowledge is power’ and when we start to understand what led to a certain way of being, then we have the power to change it and move forward.  I will share tools and ideas that will help you do this. I draw on approaches from the following models: Person Centred, Humanistic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution focused and motivational interviewing. I have specific training in CBT-E and MANTRA that are to be specifically used in the treatment of people experiencing eating disorders.

What to Expect

I will aim to contact you within 24 hours of your enquiry. excluding weekends and Bank Holidays.

I am happy to offer a free 15-minute phone call at an arranged time to suit you if you should wish to ask questions or just to talk further before your initial session.

The first session will be an initial consultation, during which we will discuss your needs further, complete some paperwork together and for you to decide if you wish to begin counselling with me.

I aim to schedule sessions at the same day and time each week but understand that from time to time this is not possible and will offer some flexibility if needed.

It is important that you attend sessions regularly in order to achieve the best outcomes from therapy.
